Layouts from the Retreat
Hello gorgeous ladies, Tracy here
Kathie has asked me to share my completed layouts that I taught at her fantastic (brilliantly organised, delicious food and fantastic company) retreat we had last weekend
Here is my Friday night class where the ladies played with the Tim Holtz Blending Tool, using a resist technique on chipboard gates and created a layered border with pattern paper, gold chain and lace
Our chipboard title coloured by using Tim Holtz Distress Stains and a "finger wipe" of gold stickles
Chipboard again coloured with Tim Holtz Distress Stains and using our gorgeous brown gardenias with resin flowers
Our chipboard gates with charms, roses, stemmed flowers and (as always with my layouts) charms
My Saturday night class was quite a different type of layout from Friday night where we used a pizza box to create a woodgrain effect, to match the Prima papers (using the opposite side of the pattern paper ... take a look next time on the opposite side of your double sided pp as they sometimes can be a subtle pattern which is great instead of using cardstock)
Cut very thin stripes of the pizza box (around 2mm) and turn on its side then attach in strips with double sided tape to create the woodgrain effect
then adding our leaf charms with bakers twine
we also added a few lizard charms eating there way through the pattern paper
Damm, we never did come up with a name of the pizza box technique did we?
and the title is Scrapware Correboard Letters
Scrapware Trees covered with Peeled Paint Crackle Paint and of course charms ... our trees and snails
Kathie has a few of the kits up in her store for sale, so if you like what you see pop on over and grab them while you can
Huge thanks to Kathie for inviting me down again, I had the best time again
huge waves from the (warm) gold Coast to everyone who attended :)

I was lucky enough to do the second of Tracy's layouts, not sure that I will have the time and patience to use the pizza box that way again but the 1st layout is a stunner, very sorry I missed that 1. Lovely meeting you Tracy. Kath, you are a special lady and you attract others like you, had a great time, thanks for inviting me. Rosemary.
The pages are beautiful!
I really love that second layout Tracy. Might have to have a go with that technique!
I loved the retreat, especially the classes run by Tracy, Trudy and Kath.
I'm really happy how my layouts turned out and will definately give the wood grain technique a go again :)
